Description: A converging lens is held in front of a scenic view in Tiburon. Because converging lenses (like the one pictured) are thinner at the edges than they are at the center, they behave like concave mirrors. If we classify the view (ocean, mountains, trees, etc.) as an “object”, then technically the object is far beyond the focal point for this lens, which will produce an inverted, smaller image, just like we are seeing in the photo. Who knew physics could explain this beautiful landscape?
